On Saturday, February 22nd the Plymouth Police Department received a report of gunshots fired at the Economy Inn located at 2535 North Michigan Street in Plymouth. Upon arrival it was determined that nobody had been injured, but shots had been fired at someone residing at the Inn from a dark colored car that had left the scene.

Further investigation by Detective Leo Mangus revealed that threatening phone calls had been made by someone identified as 16 year old Chris Tackett of Warsaw to a resident of the Economy Inn. Four casing shells of a .380 caliber were located and two bullets traveled through a window and lodged in the interior wall of one of the motel rooms.

  The suspect vehicle was eventually located and further investigation revealed that the vehicle was owned by 21 yer old Heather Alexander of Warsaw. Investigation also revealed that 19 year old Blake Spindler of Warsaw and Chris Tackett were in the vehicle when the shots were fired.

The two adult subjects are currently being held in the  Marshall County Jail. Christopher Tackett has been charged as an adult and will be transferred from a Juvenile Detention Facility to the Marshall County Jail. All three subjects have been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Attempted Murder, Criminal Recklessness, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Recklessness and Carrying a Handgun without a License. Bond has been set for all three subjects at $50,000.00 cash.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
