01/22/14  On Monday, January 20th at 4:57 P.M. the Plymouth Police Department was dispatched to a multiple vehicle accident with personal injury at the intersection of Oak Drive and US 30. 

The preliminary investigation shows that 68 year old Laurence Hagbom of Auburn, Michigan was driving a 2011 Volvo semi westbound on US 30. As Mr. Hagbom entered the intersection at Oak Drive against the red traffic light the semi rear ended a minivan into a north bound car.  The semi then struck another semi stopped at the red light and then continued to strike another passenger car that was northbound on Oak Drive. Three patients from the crash were transported from the scene to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

  Due to Plymouth Police still investigating this accident further information is unable to be obtained.

  Assisting the Plymouth Police Department at the scene were the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Plymouth Fire and EMS and the Union North EMS.

  Lyons Towing, Carnegie Towing and Rans Towing all assisted in the removal of the vehicles due to the extensive damage caused by the accident.
