Blueberry Montgomery GentryThe 48th Annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival officially opens at 5 p.m. today with a ceremony on the Jefferson School Stage. All craft and food vendors will be open until 9 while the carnival is open until 10.

There’s lots of free entertainment to enjoy every day, and tonight beginning at 5 you can listen to Moonshine Alibi, a rock, county and 80’s group on the Jefferson School stage followed by the Marshall County Church Orchestra at 7.

Friday’s entertainment also included the Little Miss and Mister Blueberry contest at the Jefferson Street Stage beginning at 5:30 followed by Daphne’s Dolls who will perform some amazing baton routines at 7.

Headliner for Friday evening is Montgomery Gentry with Frankie Ballard in the field on the east side of the park. Tickets are $30 for general admission or lawn seating (bring your own chair), $35 for VIP reserved numbered seats and $40 for the Pit where you stand at the front of the stage. Tickets go on sale at information booth number 2 at the corner of Randolph and Becknell Drive beginning at 9 a.m. today. Gates for the concert open at 6 and the show begins at 8 p.m. The concert is rain or shine although it could be cancelled for lightening or severe weather
