Too many young women think a career in science is only for young men in lab coats, or solitary programmers hunched over computer keyboards. Today, some of the coolest jobs around require a background in science, technology, engineering and math and women are being encouraged to take a new look at these fields. Young women from Starke, Marshall, Pulaski and Fulton counties are invited to come to the Ancilla College campus for an afternoon of exploration and activities.

Young women in grades 7-12 are invited and encouraged to attend the free Ancilla College Excellence in Science & Mathematics (ACES) workshop Thursday, April 24, from 1-3 PM (EDT). ACES is a fun, hands-on workshop and eye-opening information about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers.

Workshop activities include:  hands-on water sampling and testing, light microscopy use and data analyses, mathematical application, information technology use with college-level resources and on-and off-site mentoring by college faculty and former ACES attendees

RESERVATIONS REQUIRED on or before April 17.  To get registered contact Kristin Korcha at kristin.korcha@ancilla.edu
