armed robbery_Verizon_1On Sunday, November 9th at 2:40 p.m. the Plymouth Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting an armed robbery at the Verizon Store, Cellular Connection at 1605 North Michigan Street in Plymouth.

MugSHot_Lewis Deshontay L27 year old Deshontay Lewis of Bourbonnais, IL allegedly entered the store about 2:30 and ordered the employee at knife point to open the safe. The suspects restrained him and removed a large amount of high volume phones.

Armed robbery_Verizon_signOnce the suspects left the building the employee was able to get free and called 9-1-1 giving dispatchers a description of the two suspects.

Armed robbery_Verizon_vehicleA Plymouth Police officer saw a white Ford leaving the area at a high rate of spec with two males matching the description. As the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop the vehicle continued heading north on Michigan Road and a pursuit continued north to the south side of South Bend where their vehicle became disabled. The two suspects fled from the vehicle and after a short foot pursuit both were apprehended.

Officers located the cell phones that were stolen from the local Verizon store in the vehicle.

Terrell and Lewis were transported back to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for armed robbery and resisting law enforcement as a level 3 felony. They are being held with no bond.
