02/13/14 On Monday, February 10th at 6:56 P.M. Plymouth Police Officer Shanna Gilmer responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a male shoplifter. Arriving at Wal-Mart Officer Gilmer located and arrested 34 year old Preston L. Smith of Grovertown for Theft.  Mr. Preston was transported and lodged at the Marshall County Jail and booked on a $1,505 bond. 

On Tuesday Officer Mark Owen located and arrested 31 year old Mary Balboa of Plymouth during a traffic stop at Family Express on South Michigan Street.  Balboa was arrested for Driving While Suspended with a Prior Charge of the same offense.  She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $755 bond.  Mary Balboa was released later that afternoon at 2:30 P.M. after posting bond and received an Superior Court II date to appear March 4th.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
