04/15/14  On Tuesday, April 8th at 11:26 A.M. the Marshall County Prosecutors Office contacted the Plymouth Police Department and told them 37 year old Robert Vandosen of Ohio in their lobby and wanted on an active warrant.  Plymouth Police Officer Derek Workman responded to the Prosecutor’s Office and arrested Vandosen for Nonsupport of a Dependent Child.  It was discovered that he had three active warrants out of Elkhart County too. Mr. Vandosen was taken to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $20,005 cash bond for Marshall County and held for Elkhart County too.

Later Tuesday afternoon at 2:34 P.M. Officer Workman responded to the Marshall County Court House after receiving a tip that 28 year old Travis Mechling of LaPaz was at the location and was wanted on an active warrant through St. Joseph County for a Civil Contempt. Mr. Mechling was located and taken into custody and transported to the County Jail and held for St. Joseph County.

On Wednesday, April 9th at 2:09 P.M. Officer Workman conducted a traffic stop on Michigan Road north of 6C Road.  The driver, 33 year old John D. Loftus of Plymouth was found to be driving after having been judged to be a Habitual Traffic Violator for Life. He was taken to the Jail and held with no bond.

On Thursday, April 10th at 2:15 P.M. Officer Workman arrested 32 year old Ramona Garcia of South Bend after a probation appointment.  She had an active warrant for a probation violation through Marshall County. She was transported to the County Jail and held with no bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
