Handcuffs-new07/08/14 On Tuesday, July 1st at 7:58 P.M. Officer Stewart Krynock with the Plymouth Police Department responded to Wal-Mart in reference to a female shoplifter. Arriving on the scene Officer Krynock located and arrested 20 year old Katherine E. Merriman of Grovertown for theft. She was transported and lodged at the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,505.
A short time later at 8:27 P.M. Officer Benjamin McIntyre observed a vehicle on Oakhill Avenue that appeared to be speeding. Radar confirmed the speed of the vehicle to be traveling 50 MPH in a 35 MPH zone. A traffic stop was initiated at Oakhill and Rose on 26 year old Derek Sallee of Knox. After running Mr. Sallee through the BMV it was discovered that he was operating on a suspended licensed with a prior. Mr. Sallee was transported to the Marshall County Jail and was held on a $755 bond.
On Thursday, July 3rd at 9:37 P.M. Officer Paul Stamper conducted a traffic stop at Pioneer Drive and State Road 17 on 55 year old Jeffery J. Wojcik of Culver who was found to be operating while intoxicated. Mr. Wojcik was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was held on a $1,505 bond. He was released on Friday, July 4th and was given a July 15th Superior Court II date to appear.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
