PLYMOUTH – Officials are still unable to make a positive identification of the man whose body was found last night in the Yellow River.

An autopsy was performed Friday afternoon, and preliminary results indicate that the man died of accidental drowning however forensic identification was not determined at this time.

Plymouth Police do confirm that on June 18 they received a report of a missing man, 61 years of age that indicated that the man was last seen at approximately noon on June 16. Due to the ongoing investigation of this case authorities are withholding the name of the missing person at this time.

At around 5:10 p.m. on Thursday evening Plymouth Police received a report of a body in the Yellow River near Oakhill Avenue. Two kayakers on the river discovered the body of a white male in the river just off of Lynn Street in Plymouth. Plymouth and Marshall County Police along with Indiana Conservation officers were joined by Plymouth emergency responders and the Marshall County Coroner to remove the body from the river.
