Brian Shumaker, Master Sergeant with U.S. Air Force Photography at Gallery Heartland Artists Gallery is honored and proud to display Brian Shumaker’s photography. Brian is our Member Artist of the Month and his work will be seen through the end of May. He is a freelance photographer, and a Bremen native. Born and raised in Bremen, Indiana – Brian learned the simple beauty of a small town landscape and expanded his artistic horizons while traveling the world with his camera. His interest in photography began with his grandfather’s love of the art. Travel, architecture, automobiles, and nature’s beauty have been Brian‘s inspirations, and furthered his passion for photography. His portfolio reflects the diverse lifestyle that he has been fortunate to have the opportunity to take advantage of during his career.
Currently stationed in Las Vegas, Nevada, Brian is a Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. Even though his position requires long hours and extensive travel, Brian still finds time within his schedule to photograph and share his experiences with everyone.
As a self-taught photographer, he has captured unique images from his travels with the United States Air Force. With a career in the Air Force, he has had the opportunity to live in and travel to 35 countries on 4 continents. Brian has been fortunate to capture unique snap shots of life; from experiencing the hardships of war in Iraq, to the magnificence of Venice, Italy, to the simple beauty of the Plovdiv, Bulgaria, and the serenity of the scenic United States from coast to coast. In addition to landscape photography, Brian’s talents spread with his love of automobiles, shooting old trucks to rare exotics and everything in between, his photography covers it all. Through his photography he seeks to document his own personal experiences, to capture scenes and events as he sees them, and to share with others the beauty and diversity of the world.
