County News_logo07/14/14 The Marshall County Council will have a busy meeting this morning (7/14/14) starting at 9. Their agenda includes Annette Osborn, WIC (Women’s, Infant & Children) Coordinator will request a position name change. Osborn will discuss the state mandate to make the change.
Wes Burden from the Health Department will seek approval to submit a couple of grant applications and Leonard Isban will discuss the Boys and Girls Club.
County Council members will consider two personnel committee recommendation: the first is the creation of a Highway Administrative Manager position and the second is Supervisor of the County Highways. These two positions would replace the County Highway Superintendent position that had been held by Neal Haeck.
Transfers and additional are also on the agenda for today’s meeting. Court Services is seeking a Case Work Manager with a wage and benefit package of $21,384 and would be paid for with user fees. The Highway needs an additional of $55,000 for road paint and $300,000 for vehicle maintenance while the Health Department is seeking $5,000 for their unsafe building line item.
Other agenda items include an amendment to the Sheriff’s pension and presentation of the jail commissary report and the jail report.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. and is open to the public.
