04/04/14 On Monday, March 31st the Starke County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to investigate a vehicle that was in a ditch in the area of 300 North just west of 1100 East.
During the investigation it was discovered that the driver, 24 year old Cathryn Ellison of Plymouth was ejected and under the vehicle.
Starke County police determined she was driving west on 300 North and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and Ellison was ejected from her vehicle.
Cathryn Ellison was pronounced dead at the scene.
Starke County Police were assisted at the scene by Hamlet Police, the Koontz Lake Fire Department, Hamlet Fire, Washington Township Fire and the Indiana State Police.
The Indiana State Police will be reconstructing the crash.
