Singles: 1. Claire Reifeis (NC) beat Natalia Lopez-Yanez, 6-0, 6-1; 2. Caroline McAuley (NC) beat Rachel Simon, 6-0, 6-1; 3. Carlota Silva (CGA) beat Sydney Roach, 2-6, 6-1, 6-0.
Doubles: 1. Alexandra McKinzie/Katherine Sommers (NC) beat Regina Padilla/Amanda Padilla, 6-4, 6-4; 2. Katherine Keesling/Cassie Davis (NC) beat Olivia Cripe/Nancy Wu, 6-2, 6-2.
This was CGA’s first appearance at the state tournament since 2005.Silva, a senior, won two of the first three games in the first set before losing. She then won 12 of the next 13 games to win the match.
CGA finishes the season at 18-5. North Central is 22-2. Keesling is the only senior on North Central’s team. Culver graduates Silva, Lopez-Yanez, Cripe and Wu.
