MISHAWAKA, IN –  The Ancilla Chargers men’s basketball team dropped a close 70-66 game to the Pilots of Bethel College Monday night.

Leading the Chargers in an offensive showcase was sophomore Juwan Johnson, whose 27 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists were enough to lead the team, but ultimately fall short to the Pilots. Sophomore Mike Wickliff followed Johnson for 11 points of his own on the night. Ancilla drops to 1-1 overall on the season with the loss.

Head coach Aaron Butcher saw potential in his team last night, but also saw a big game from a skilled Bethel team, “Bethel played a great game and hit big shots. We’ve got some key pieces we are missing but have to right the ship until we can get them back.”

Looking ahead, Ancilla will face off at Olney Central Friday November 7th with a tip-off at 8:30 PM. Saturday November 8th, the Chargers square up with the NJCAA number one seed Vincennes University at 6:30 PM.
