Scam Alert_2The Plymouth Police Department would like to warn citizens of a scam that has been attempted twice in the past week. Tow residents have received calls that they won Monday. They are asked to open a Green Dot Money Pack account. These cards can be purchased at grocery stores or pharmacies. They are tricked into depositing money into their own account. The suspect asks for the numbers from the back of the card to verify you have an account. The suspects then have access to all money in you Green Dot account. Suspects add to the confusion by saying they will meet you at the store, but once they have the numbers from the card, they have your money. The victims were initially told that they had won $2.5 million.
If you have been a victim, please call your local law enforcement and report the scam.
