PLYMOUTH – The second phase of Plymouth’s Greenways Trail officially began as the City of Plymouth approved an additional appropriation for the project.

Phase two will take the trail from Founders Park across Jefferson Street to Gill Park, place a bridge across the Yellow River and extend to River and Garro Street at the new River Park Square. The price tag for the second phase will be around $550,000. The bulk of that amount will be covered in an Indiana Department of Transportation grant.

The Council approved an appropriation of $100,693 from the Park Departments non-reverting capital projects fund to be transferred to Greenways Trail fund that contained a balanced of $10,683. The amount will cover the city’s twenty percent match responsibility for the project.
