03/11/14 Marshall County Prosecutor Dave Holmes was granted permission to purchase a new copier for the office.  This past fall he purchased a Canon iRunner c5255 for a total of $7,645 from Canon Solutions America.  After it was paid for and delivered the office staff found out that it wouldn’t do all they need.  In fact, Holmes said, “The paper supply is way too small.  If you run out of paper in the middle of a project you have to start out all over.”

The prosecutor’s office presented a quote of $16,952 for a Lanier MPC 8002 from Advanced Imaging Solutions.

Holmes said he was reluctant to allow the Canon copier to be returned until the full payment was received, but did allow them to come pick it up with a surety that the full cost would be reimbursed back to the county within a week.

In other business the County Council approved the request of EMA Director Clyde Avery to apply for the grant from the state to reimburse his salary and benefit package.  They also approved the transfer request of Sheriff Chamberlin to transfer $29,640 from the wages patrol line item to wages sergeant.

An additional of $9,000 for Circuit Court was approved.  The funding is consulting fees for a private company that was hired to collect monies owed the county.  Their estimated revenue for the county is $30,000 to $40,000.  The agreement was made after the 2014 budget process was completed.

The other additionals: $5,000 for probation and $480 for the County Clerk were appropriating non-tax money.
