01/28/14 On Friday, January 24th at approximately 11:25 p.m. the Marshall County 9-1-1
Dispatch Center received a report of a semi roll over on US 30 near Beech Road. As Officer’s arrived on the scene it was determined that 57 year old Raymond J. Schone of Fort Wayne was driving a Volvo semi westbound on US 30 when the vehicle lost control due to mechanical malfunctions and high wind. The vehicle which was hauling double trailers turned over in the median spilling part of its cargo. The driver was uninjured in the accident.
Assisting at the scene were Bourbon Fire Department, Multi Township EMS, Bourbon Police Department and the Indiana State Police. Reichert’s Towing assisted in the removal of the vehicle due to the extensive damage caused by the accident.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department were kept busy this weekend as the snow storm hit the Marshall County area. Officers investigated one fatal accident, three-property damage accidents, one – car/ deer accident, one – hit and run and 42 – slid offs.
