02/13/14  On Tuesday, February 11th at approximately 10:00 A.M. the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received information of a house that had allegedly been broken and items being stolen.  Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence in the 3,000 block of West Shore Drive located at Lake of the Woods in Bremen.   They discovered that unknown subjects had broken into the residence and removed furniture and electronics.  During the investigation it was revealed that several homes had been broken into and also had stolen furniture and electronics. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is continuing the investigation of these incidents.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department encourages citizens to report any suspicious activity and to take precaution such as cleaning the snow from your sidewalks and driveways to make it appear as if someone is at the residence.  It is also recommended to use night lights, motion sensors and to have an alarm installed.  When leaving on vacation or plan to be away from your home have neighbors or family check your home and collect your mail.

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
