This year’s Craig Woolfington Memorial Golf Outing was a huge success. The weather was perfect at the Plymouth Country Club for the 32 team field this year. The Memorial had over 75 sponsors, either businesses or individual persons donating to this year’s outing.
Co-founders, Mark Lindsey and Tony Plothow said, “We can’t even begin to thank the terrific volunteers and Mike and Jane Woolfington family members that helped make the event run very smoothly.”
2014 highlights were: Maddy Johns opening her house to the golfers and Hacienda Restaurant providing a few of their specialties, the Lake City Bank putting contest, par 3 gift package, lunch and dinner, awards ceremony/auction just to name a few.
The top three finishers in this year’s tournament were awarded prizes. The winning team was Pat Turley, Ernie Kelly, Jim Miner, and Mike Kalasmiki
As always a very special part of the day is simply visiting with Trina, Craig’s wife, and Kate, Craig’s daughter. Kate drew John LaFree as the winner of the 50 inch Samsung TV raffle sponsored by Young’s TV and Appliance. She also drew Carol Brown as the 50/50 raffle winner.
The Mark Lindsey and Tony Plothow families would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for their love and support. Over the past 6 years, they have been able to contribute to the Craig Woolfington Scholarship Fund and the Craig Woolfington Cancer Research Fund, both of which are through the Marshall County Community Foundation. They have also been able to donate to Kate’s 529 College Fund.
