02/07/14 The Town of Culver is excited to announce that it has been awarded $239,200 Federal Highway Administration TAP funds for a Safe Route To School Project this week.
The project boundaries are College Avenue and Academy Road between Lake Shore Drive and School Street. The project is to increase walk ability for our children and citizens by providing a safe route to schools – both private and public, businesses and Town Park. By installing these sidewalks, ramps and crosswalks we are increasing the quality of life for our children, citizens and guests of our community. The quality of life can be measured by Safety, Health, Education and overall general welfare. The project will provide safe walking pathways which will encourage activity and improved health, which will create an environment for healthy minds and collectively will increase the general welfare of the community.
Design will hopefully begin in the summer of 2014 with construction in the summer of 2016.
