01/07/14 The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was a very active place in December.  There were 113 jail bookings last month.  The top ten offenses people were lodged in the jail last month were #10-Individuals held for other agencies, #9-Domestic Battery, #8-Operator Never Licensed, #7-Habitual Traffic Violator, and #6-Probation Violation.   The top five were Theft, #4-Driving While Suspended, #3-Marijuana, #2-Failure to Appear and the number one reason people were lodged in the County Jail, Operating While Intoxicated.

The 113 individuals booked into the county jail by departments were: Bourbon Police arrested 1 male, Bremen Police arrested 2 males and 3 females. Culver Police officers arrested 1 male and 1 female while the Indiana State Police Troopers arrested 11 male and 2 females, and the LaPaz officer arresting 4 males.  The two agencies making the most arrests in December were the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department with 45 males and 11 females and the Plymouth Police Department with 13 males and 12 females.

County police officers had 84 accident reports.  14 traffic accidents involved personal injuries, 69 were property damage accident and one investigation of a fatality crash.

Officers took 73 case reports, wrote 72 citations, received 637 civil process papers and served 483 civil papers.
