Saturday morning Marshall County Democrats gathered at the Walnut Street Center in Plymouth to celebrate the opening of their new headquarters.
County Chairman Jim Smart has only been on the job for 6 weeks. Although the democrats have no candidates on the local ballot he said, “We have a two party system and we need to find quality candidates because both parties will work harder to better serve the citizens of Marshall County.” He then welcomed special guest speaker Joe Bock, candidate for Congress in Indiana’s 2nd Congressional District.
With a career as a humanitarian aid worker Bock spoke of his time in Pakistan where he was assisting following a flood saving stranded people.
Bock commented that communication with one another was important as well as listening to what people have to say. He also noted, “We must realize that we all see things in the world differently.” Bock also said, “The worst disaster in the world right now is the U.S. Congress.”
