Dine Out for United WayDiners across the county are enjoying a great meal and feeding programs supported by United Way that help strengthen our community. Twelve restaurants in Marshall County are participating in Dine Out for United Way. Each has pledged a percentage of their sales on selected dates to go to this year’s United Way campaign.

The six-week happening started on October 6 and ends November 14. From Bremen to Bourbon and from Culver to Plymouth, tasty choices for diners include everything from pizza to chicken wings to cinnamon French toast.

Tom Blackburn, Campaign Committee Chair on the United Way Board, set up the schedule with the able assistance of his daughter Kathryn DeJarnatt. “We’ve seen a lot of enthusiasm from the restaurants. The extended timeframe has added to community awareness of United Way and what we do. I can’t thank Kathryn enough for everything she did to make the effort a success,” Blackburn said.

By partnering with United Way of Marshall County, these businesses are an active part in helping change lives and improve our communities. In 2013, over 30,000 people in Marshall County were helped by programs and services United Way supports.

The program comes to a close November 14 with Blackburn’s own Ponderosa Steakhouse finishing up. Upcoming opportunities to participate include:
