Donkey Petting Zoo at Plymouth Trinity UMC

April 10, 2014

Palm Sunday will be celebrated a little differently this year at Plymouth Trinity United Methodist Church. The story of the donkey is going to be shared at their worship services on April 13.

“Our church grounds will be turned into a petting zoo as a pair of miniature donkeys will be onsite and available for pictures and to pet,” states Barbara Holcomb, event coordinator.  “The little donkey had a major role in Palm Sunday and we want to retell the story,” continues Holcomb.

“There is a fabled story of how donkeys got the very unique marking on their backs in the shape of a cross,” said Holcomb. “We are inviting everyone to see first-hand what we are talking about.”

The donkeys will be at the church located at 425 S. Michigan St., Plymouth from 9 AM to Noon on Sunday April 13. The event is free to the public. Free photographs of families and the donkeys will be offered.

The donkeys are owned and handled by Marilyn and Curt Coby of Plymouth. For more information, see the Trinity UMC Facebook page.
