05/20/14 Members of the Marshall County Drainage Board opened bids for the reconstruction of the Marburger Ditch near Dogwood Road.  Four companies submitted sealed bids.  Thomas Excavating from Argos had a bid of $75,649 while Haskins Underground from Plymouth bid $69,091 and J.D. Excavating from Knox bid $64,948.25.  Low bidder was Hunter Transit from Plymouth with a bid of $63,516.89.  The project includes the installation of 1308 feet of 24 inch dual wall perforated pipe, 305 feet of 18 inch dual walled pipe and clean 390 feet of open drain.  The bids were taken under advisement for review and will be awarded in a special meeting on June 2nd at 8:15. 

Don Abbott was granted a variance for the Davenport Tile Arm from a 75 foot setback to a 35 foot easement setback.  Mr. Abbott plans to install a post building on the property and requested the variance. 

Summer O’Brian from CHA Engineering updated the Drainage Board on the Mitigation Study for the 7th Road Project.  The environmental document had been approved allowing the county to move forward with the purchase agreement with John Banning.  Stage 3 paperwork will be submitted by June 13th and will include the grading and planting plan.  The Drainage Board approved the Corp of Engineers restrictions including no dipping or dredging of the Zimmer Ditch and a 30 foot easement on the west side.
