01/06/14  The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a two vehicle accident at US 31 and 7B Road at 11:07 Friday morning.

As officers arrived on the scene, Patrolman Travis O’Neal found that the 1999 Silver Honda had been south bound in the driving lane of US 31 approaching the 7B Road intersection. The 1999 Kenilworth semi tractor-trailer was also south bound on US 31 in the passing lane behind the Honda when for unknown reason turned into the path of the semi. The semi struck the Honda in the driver’s side and he impact caused the two to come to rest in the median of US 31.

Plymouth Fire and EMS extricated the female driver from the Honda and she was transported by Med Flight from the scene to Memorial Hospital.  The driver of the semi was uninjured in the accident.

Officer O’Neal’s report indicates that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.   The investigation on this crash is still ongoing and identification of all those involved in the accident are pending per the investigation.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Indiana State Police, ISP Reenactment Team, Plymouth Fire and EMS. Carnegie Towing assisted in the removal of both the semi and the passenger car due to extensive damage caused by the accident.
