vote_2Hoosiers will go to the polls on Tuesday to vote for various Federal, State and local candidates.

On the federal level voters in Marshall County will decide between Republican incumbent Jackie Walorski for 2nd District Representative and Democrat Joe Bock of Libertarian Jeff Petermann.

On the state level voters will choose a Secretary of State between Republican incumbent Connie Lawson, Democrat Elizabeth White of Libertarian Karl Tatgenhorst. Auditor of the State has Republican incumbent Suzanne Crouch being challenged by Democrat Michael Claytor and Libertarian John Schick. The final state office is Treasurer of State where Democrat Mike Boland, Libertarian Michael Jasper and Kelly Mitchell are competing for the seat.

In Marshall County voters will not have many choices. Republican Tim Harman is seeking his second term as State Representative in the 17 District unopposed. Curtis Palmer is also seeking his second term at Circuit Court Judge while Dean Colvin is seeking another term for Superior Court II Judge both with no opposition. Other candidates on the Republican ticket include E. Nelson Chipman for Prosecuting Attorney, Deborah VanDeMark for Clerk of the Courts, Julie Fox as Auditor and Marlene Mahler for her second term as Recorder. Republican Debra Dunning seeks another term as Assessor and is not challenged. Republican Kurt Garner is on the ballot for Commissioner in District 1 and the four district County Council seats have no challengers; Matthew Hassel in District 1, William Githens in District 2, Don Morrison in District 3 and Judith Stone in District 4.

Republican Sheriff Tom Chamberlin is being challenged by Libertarian Tisha Jacobson-Maher.

There are also a couple of races at the Township level.

The North Township Board has four candidates for three seats. The democratic incumbents are Foster Davenport, Steve Davenport and Ronnie McCartney. Republican Jack Roose is challenging for a seat on the board.

The Polk Township Board has three incumbents; Democrat Nilas Miller and Republicans Richard Parker and Clarence Shively. They are being challenged by Republican Jerry Lamb.

In Walnut Township the three incumbents; Democrat Russell Alderfer and Republicans Joseph Stone and David Stultz are being challenged by Republican Kenneth Dowdle.

The polls will open at 6 a.m. Tuesday and remain open until 6 p.m.

The County’s 30 precincts have been combined into a total of 15 polling sites and include: Bourbon Township Precincts 1 & 2 at the Triton High School.

Center Township now has 8 precincts. Center 1 & 2 will vote at the National Guard Armory, Center 3 & 4 at the Knights of Columbus, Center 5 & 6 at the Plymouth Baptist Church and Center 7 & 8 at the REMC Auditorium.

German Township has 5 precincts with German 1 voting at the Lake of the Woods Community Building, German 2 at the Bremen Missionary Church and German 3, 4 & 5 at the Bremen High School.

Green Townships only precinct will vote at the United Methodist Church in Argos while all three precincts in North Township will vote at the LaPaz Community Building.

The two Polk Townships will vote at the Tyner Fire Department and the sole precinct in Tippecanoe Township will be at the Tippecanoe Community Center.

Union Township has precincts 1 & 2 and they will both vote at the Culver Depot and both Walnut Townships will be at the United Methodist Church in Argos.

West Township precincts 1, 2 and 3 and West/City of Plymouth will all vote at the Pretty Lake Trinity Church Fellowship Hall.
