Did you know alcohol kills more young people than all illegal drugs combined?   April is Alcohol Awareness Month, a time to discuss the dangers of alcohol abuse.

During the 2014 legislative session, Indiana Senator Randy Head co-authored an expansion of Indiana’s Lifeline Law to help save more young lives from alcohol-related tragedies.

Senator Head said, “The new law gives immunity from certain alcohol-related offenses to minors who call to report a medical emergency or crime.  The law also allows first-responders to administer medical treatments that counteract the effects of a drug overdose.”

Senator Head closed by saying, “While Indiana remains committed to preventing the consumption of alcohol by minors, the Lifeline Law will encourage young people to act responsibly during emergency situations.”
