01/07/14 On Saturday, January 4th at approximately 1:00 p.m. the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department obtained information of alleged drug activity occurring at the residence of 3919 Michigan Road Lot #4 in Plymouth.  A search warrant was obtained for the residence and executed. County officers Les McFarland, Jonathan Bryant and Phil Beam along with Topeka Police Officer Dean Weir served the search warrant at the residence.

During the execution of the search warrant items believed to be synthetic marijuana, drug paraphernalia and prescription medication was located and seized. Uriah Griffin and his father Michael Griffin were arrested and booked into the Marshall County Jail for Possession of Marijuana as a class A misdemeanor and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, as a class D felony.  They were each held on $1,505 bonds.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
