03/07/14  Marshall County Sheriff, Tom Chamberlin released his department Activity Report for the month of February.  The Top Ten reasons people were booked into the Marshall County Jail during February 2014 were:

#10.  Possession of a Controlled Substance

#  9.  Public Intoxication

#  8.  Court Order Hearing

#  7.  Operator Never Licensed

#  6.  Dealing In Cocaine and Or Meth

#  5.  Theft

#  4.  Driving While Suspended

#  3.  Marijuana

#  2.  Failure to Appear

And the # 1 reason people were booked into the Marshall County Jail in February was Operating While Intoxicated.

There were 144 subjects booked into the Marshall County Jail last month.  Argos Police Department arrested 1 male and 1 female, Officers at the Bourbon Police Department arrested 1 male and 1 female, Bremen Police arrested 11 males and 1 female, officers in Culver had no arrests, the Indiana State Police arrested 9 males and 4 females and the LaPaz Police officer had no arrests. Those with the most arrest activity in February were the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department who arrested 54 males and 14 females and Plymouth Police who arrested 26 males and 10 females.

Marshall County officers took 67 accident reports with 13 involving personal injuries and 54 of the accidents being property damage.  There was 79 case reports taken and 93 citations were written. The Sheriff’s Department received 698 civil process papers and served 518 civil paper.
