03/18/14 Plymouth Fire Chief Rod Miler presented the February activity report during a recent Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.  His department responded to 178 alarm situation last month.  There were 138 EMS incidents, while 9 times they were dispatched but cancelled en route.  EMS responded to 7 medical assist requests while firefighters had a total of 5 structure fires in February.

Emergency responders from the Plymouth Fire House went out 3 times for public service assistance calls and 3 unintentional system operations. There were 2 hazmat release investigation with a result of no hazmat found, 2 vehicle fires and 2 rescue calls. 

Other calls in February were a chemical release, 1 rescue extrication, a false alarm, one good intent call, a call which ended up being steam instead of smoke, one system malfunction and a service call. 

There were a total of 148 hours of training last month.

When looking at the February incidents by district you will see 125 were in Plymouth while 24 were in West Township and 16 were in Center Township. Plymouth also assisted to Polk Township 3 times and Argos and LaPaz each one time. 

Paramedic assists included two each for Argos, Culver and Walkerton while Starke County and LaPaz only had one each in February.
