PLYMOUTH – Former Marshall County Economic Development Corporation Director Jay Bahr was found dead Friday in his Plymouth Apartment.

According to a release from Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger Bahr was found dead in his apartment on Friday morning at approximately 11:35 a.m after a report to the Plymouth Police Department. Detective Sgt. Leo Mangus and Chief Deputy Coroner Brigette Hite assisted Cleavenger at the scene. The cause and manner of death was unknown at that time.

Bahr’s body was taken to St. Joseph Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne where an autopsy was performed on Saturday. The Coroner’s office has said that a health issue is the suspected cause of death.

On December 3 of last year the MCEDC announced that Bahr would be leaving his post as director that he assumed in April of 2013.

Bahr was 45.
