Fort Wayne Man Arrested on Multiple Charges including DUI

June 2, 2014

On Thursday May 29th at approximately 10:50 p.m. an officer with the Marshall County Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on U.S. 30 near the intersection of Pioneer Drive.  During the course of the traffic stop the driver of the vehicle, 40 year old James Krout of Fort Wayne was suspected to be under the influence of a controlled substance.  He was also driving after a lifetime license forfeiture.

Krout was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked for Operating a Vehicle after a Lifetime Suspension, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangering a Person, Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated under a Controlled Substance, and Operating a Vehicle Without Ever Receiving a License.

A Probable cause affidavit was filed and signed with bond set at $15,000.  A court date is pending in Marshall County Superior Court #1.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed.  They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
