Plymouth Freshmen Boys Basketball team captured the title in the Triton Freshmen Basketball tournament.
Game one had Plymouth matched up against an undefeated CMA squad.  CMA started the game on an 8-0 run and had an 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Pilgrims had found their stride and scored 11 points in the second quarter and the teams went into halftime knotted at 17.  After halftime, the Pilgrims defense really clamped down as they held the Eagles to only 2 points in the third quarter while scoring 10 themselves. Plymouth would hang on to win the game by a score of 36-27 and move on the championship game. Ryan Carmichael exploded for 17 points after having no points in the first quarter and John Gerard had a solid 8 points.

Plymouth was now matched up with Triton for second time in a week’s time. Plymouth had gotten the better of them on Monday so the Trojans were looking for some payback. Triton had defeated Tippecanoe Valley in the early game to move on to the championship. The Trojans came out determined as they took a 5-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.  Then the Pilgrims got hot scoring 13 points in the second quarter and went into halftime with a 17-14 lead.  Plymouth didn’t let up after halftime as they put up another 13 point quarter and ended the third frame with a 30-22 lead.  Plymouth would hang to win by hitting all of its 8 free throws in the final quarter and shooting 17-20 from the line for the game taking a 40-26 win.  Ryan Carmichael was the high point man again with 15 points and John Gerard and Travis Owen each had 8 points.
