Arrested_handcuff On Friday, September 5th at 10:27 A.M. Plymouth Police Officer John Weir initiated a traffic stop on 20 year old Harley Howell of Plymouth for false plates on his vehicle at Michigan Street and Hoham. During the traffic stop Officer Weir ran Mr. Howell’s information through BMV and found that he was driving while suspended with a prior charge of the same offense. Howell was taken into custody and lodged in the Marshall County Jail with a $755 bond. Howell was later released on September 7th for no judicial review and was issued an October 7th Superior Court II date for his initial hearing.

Later Friday night at 11:47 P.M. Officer Wally Derifield conducted a traffic stop at Walnut and Garro Streets on 28 year old Jason Penrod of Plymouth. During the course of the investigation, Mr. Penrod was taken into custody for driving under the influence with a prior charge of the same offense. He was transported to the Marshall County Jail and held on a $1,505 bond. Penrod was released on September 6th after posting bond and was issued an September 16th Superior Court I date.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
