PenceIndianapolis—Thursday day Governor Mike Pence called on Members of the Indiana Congressional Delegation to support legislative efforts that would block or prevent implementation of the EPA’s proposed regulations on carbon dioxide emission from existing and new power plants.

“The Obama Administration has already put in place regulations on power plants that will increase the cost of electricity in Indiana by 30 percent over the next seven years, according to the State Utility Forecasting Group. The newly proposed EPA rules for carbon dioxide emissions from existing and new power plants will only cause electricity rates to rise further while at the same time threatening the reliability of our electricity supply.” wrote Governor Pence. The letter in full can be found attached.

Last week, Governor Pence visited the Bear Run coal mine operated by Peabody Energy in Carlisle, Indiana where he met with men and women who work day in and day out to supply Indiana with an affordable and reliable source of electricity. He is committed to stand with them against the Obama Administration’s war on coal.
