Haley_HarrellPlymouth High School senior Haley Harrell, played in the ICGSA North/South Volleyball All-Star game this past Sunday at 4 pm at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis.

It was a full day for Haley as she left home at eight on Sunday morning and did not get home until nine O’clock Sunday night. The All-Stars started the day at Lawrence North having individual and team pictures taken. They were then served lunch courtesy of Subway after that they had a practice. The 3A and 4A schools were represented on Haley’s team. Even though she had never played Libero before, she was asked to play it. She had been a setter all through her four-year varsity career at Plymouth.

The match was set up to play the best of three and 14 girls were chosen to play in the match for each team. The South defeated Haley’s North team in two games 26-24 and 25-12.

When talking about the experience, she Harrell said it was, “really cool!” She said, “Being selected was really an honor. It was really fun bringing all these players together so we could play this game.”

Haley’s future plans are on hold for right now. She is currently a member of the undefeated (4-0) Pilgrim basketball team. She is also going to participate in tennis this spring. If she plays a sport in college, it would definitely be volleyball.

The PHS Athletic Department congratulates Haley for being chosen to be a part of this All-Star team. It was a great way to finish her high school volleyball career.

Haley is the daughter of Steve and Julie Harrell.
