Police_PursuitCity, state and county police agencies in Plymouth were involved in a high speed chase Thursday morning.

pursuit11-13-14_apprehendedThe incident occurred when the homeowner at 402 Kenilworth Road came home and found a male subject sleeping in her bed. He pulled a gun on her and fled the scene with a female accomplice  in a black suburban.

pursuit11-13-14_RIverParkAn Indiana State Police trooper located a vehicle matching the description and a high speed pursuit was initiated. The chase proceeded along country roads on the Plymouth’s north east side. At one point the officer lost sight of the suspect vehicle and multiple officers from the various police agencies joined the search for the vehicle. Plymouth Officer John Weir located it in the area of Michigan and Hoham and the pursuit began west on Hoham and then south on Oak Drive. At the intersection of Oak and Jefferson the suspect vehicle struck two vehicles and continued south to State Road 17/Lake Avenue where it headed east back into town.

pursuit11-13-14_towingWith nearly a dozen police cars in pursuit the black suburban headed east on LaPorte Street and drove over several curbs and through River Park Square.

Pursuit11-13-14_bridgeAs the vehicle crossed over the Garro Street Bridge, east bound a black bag was chucked out the passenger’s window in an attempt to throw it into the Yellow River. It landed on the sidewalk and meth related paraphernalia was spread out on the sidewalk.

Pursuit11-13-14_LJHThe SUV continued east bound on LaPorte Street and at the intersection with Liberty drove right through the front yard of the Lincoln Junior High School and out on Gibson. Continuing east the pair drove behind American Dream Tours on Lincolnway East and on to Warana Drive where they drove behind one of the homes and came out through a wooded area on Lincolnway East. The pursuit continued eastbound on Lincolnway out of town and just before the US 31 overpass the suspects drove into a cornfield on the north side of the roadway where Officer Weir was able to apprehend them with the assistance of multiple officers.

Shannon Dixon Ricky GeeThe suspects, Shannon Dixon and Richard “Ricky” Gee were apprehended and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

Pursuit11-13-14_stolenvehicleDuring the investigation it was discovered that the suburban had been spray-painted from red to black and it was reported stolen from this county a short time ago.
