Hoops for hope_Triton-PlymouthTriton High School and Plymouth High School girls’ basketball teams will be joining together this month in an effort to raise money for “Ounce of Prevention” in Marshall County.

The Mission at Ounce of Prevention is to unify the small efforts of many to create a greater impact to assist those diagnosed with and affected by cancer in Marshall County. Some of the projects fundraising dollars go toward include: the Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship, supporting the Health Center by donating funds to assist the under-served in acquiring mammograms, donating mammograms to Bremen Community Hospital, supporting Hello Gorgeous, and providing assistance to address physician-referred needs as they are presented.

In an effort to help raise money both Triton and Plymouth schools will be participating in a coin war leading up to the game on Thursday, November 20th. From Monday, November 10th through Tuesday, November 18th each school will be collecting loose change in an effort to win the coin war between the schools.

Triton Superintendent Donna Burroughs said, “All in all the real winners will be the families in Marshall County that will be helped by the funds raised.” She encouraged participation by the community by saying, “Please help us in our efforts and send loose change for the cause.”
