County News_logoMonday the Marshall County Drainage Board signed a contract with Hunter Transit of Plymouth for $63,516.89. The contract is for the construction of the Dogwood Road Drain to the Marburger Ditch.

The project includes the installation of 1,308 fee of 24 inch dual-wall perforated pipe along with 305 feet of 18 inch pipe. Hunter Transit will clean 390 feet of open drain and the existing drain lines along with patching the asphalt pavement and the restore the site with leveling and seeding.

Four companies bid on the project back in May with bids ranging from $75,649 from Thomas Excavating to the low bid of $63,516.86 by Hunter Transit. The Drainage Board conducted a special meeting on June 2nd to award the project and Monday signed the contract at the regular June meeting.

Hunter Transit has 60 days from the signing of the contract to complete the project.
