With 397 teams entered along with 5,592 participants, initial matchups for the 43rd Annual IHSAA Volleyball State
Tournament were announced this morning.
Sectional play begins on Tuesday, Oct. 21, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 25, at 64 sites across the four
enrollment classifications.
Those sectional champions will advance to a one‐match regional on the home court of one of the participating teams on
Tuesday, Oct. 28, to be followed by a four‐team semi‐state on Saturday, Nov. 1. The four state championship matches at
Ball State University’s Worthen Arena are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8.

Plymouth will play in Sectional 3 at South Bend Clay (7)
M1: Plymouth vs. South Bend Adams.
M2: South Bend Washington vs. Mishawaka.
M3: Penn vs. South Bend Clay.
M4: South Bend Riley vs. Winner of M1.
M5: Winner of M2 vs. Winner of M3.
Championship: Winner of M4 vs. Winner of M5.

The four top‐ranked teams in last week’s from the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association and
IndianaPrepVolleyball.com headline this year’s field.
In Class A, No. 1 Wes‐Del will take on Daleville in Sectional 55 at Cowan. In Class 2A, top‐ranked and defending state
champion Providence drew into the bye match against town rival Clarksville in Sectional 46 at Henryville. In 3A, No. 1
Mishawaka Marian will host Jimtown in the Sectional 19 opener for the second year in a row. And in Class 4A, top‐
ranked Roncalli will face Center Grove, another top five team, in the bye match in Sectional 13 at Franklin Community.
Avon, the two‐time defending Class 4A state champion, will take a 14‐match tournament winning streak into its first
round contest against Terre Haute North in Sectional 12 at Mooresville. In Class 3A, defending champ Brebeuf Jesuit will
meet host New Palestine in the Sectional 26 opener. And defending Class A champion Barr‐Reeve will take on rival and
host Loogootee in Sectional 23.
