03/18/14 Marshall County Building Commissioner, Chuck DeWitt presented the January and February activity reports during Monday’s Commissioner meeting.

In January a total of 18 permits were issues with an estimated value of $2.8 million.  DeWitt also did 48 inspections.

In February there were a total of 19 permits issues with as estimated value of $849,500.  The building inspector also conducted 52 inspections last month. 

DeWitt noted that projects this year are larger than those during this same time period last year.  He also said that activity in March has increased.  During the first 14 days this month his has conducted 42 inspections and expects to reach 100 by the end of the month. 

Mr. DeWitt also requested and was granted permission to attend the Indiana Association of Building Officials annual business meeting and education conference in mid April in Elizabeth, IN.  The three day conference officers a variety of break-out session and the County Building Inspector has selected the ones he feels fit best for the activities in Marshall County.
