July Fire Department Activity Report

Plymouth Fire DepartmentJuly was a busy month for the Plymouth Fire Department. Fire Chief Rod Miller presented the monthly activity report to members of the Board of Public Works and Safety Monday night.

Emergency responders were dispatched 179 times. There were 128 Emergency medical service incidents and 12 times fire and or EMS was cancelled en route. There were a total of 8 medical assists and 8 false alarms last month.

Plymouth volunteer firefighters responded to 5 combustible spills or leaks, 3 system malfunctions and 3 good intent calls. There were 2 outside rubbish fires, 2 structure fires, 1 vehicle fire and 1 electrical wiring issue. In July city emergency responders were dispatched to a service call, 2 severe weather calls, a smoke or odor problem, an outside special fire and a single unintentional system operation without a fire.

Staff of the Plymouth Fire Department and volunteers had 238 hours of training in July.

Looking at incidents by district show 125 in Plymouth, 25 in West Township, 21 in Center Township 4 in LaPaz and 1 in Bourbon. Plymouth EMS had 2 paramedic assists with Culver and 1 with Walkerton last month.
