08/01/14 On Tuesday, July 29th at 9:58 P.M. the Marshall County Dispatch received a 911 call in reference to a red passenger car driving erratically on Michigan Road. It was traveling north from 16th Road. An officer from the Marshall County Police Department was working the DUI Task Force north of this area and responded to the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle. A short time later a red passenger car was observed speeding in this location and then was observed driving left of center on 13th Road west of U.S. 31. At this point a traffic stop was initiated by the officer.
During the traffic stop the driver, 27 year old Nikki N. Gibson of Knox was found to have been consuming alcohol. Also present in the vehicle were several juveniles. During the traffic stop she failed several field sobriety tests and a portable breath test. Gibson was transport to the Marshall County Jail where she then tested .186% on a certified breath test. She was lodged at the Marshall County Jail for Operating While Intoxicated with a passenger under the age of 18, a level 6 felony and held on a $1,505 bond.
Nikki Gibson was released on July 30th after posting bond and was assigned a court date of Tuesday, August 5th at 8:30 A.M. in the Marshall County Superior Court II.
