CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL – In just their third road game of the season, the Ancilla women’s basketball team picked up their second road win and seventh overall by defeating Prairie State College 91-79.

Ancilla (7-5) shot 59.5% in the first half on their way to a 53-44 halftime lead and outrebounded the host Pioneers 49-33 on their way to the victory.

Khadijah Moore had a team high 30 points and five steals and pulled down seven rebounds, while Taylor Kuhnle picked up a season high 20 points and added six rebounds and a team co-leading four assists to the mix. Michelle Detwiler led the Chargers with nine rebounds while scoring ten points on the day and La’Fabian Coleman was co-leader in assists (4) and dropped in nine points as well.

“It was a total team effort today,” stated Ancilla coach Tom Robbins. “The game was very tight with nine lead changes and several players in foul trouble. Every player on the team took part at different points in the game to step up and contribute to the win. I was very proud of the ball movement we displayed on offense. This has been a struggle for us and we took a step forward as a team with 21 assists leading us to our best offensive output of the year.”

The final game for Ancilla before the new year and the beginning of the conference season will be Thursday, December 18 at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Tipoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
