Northridge continued their dominance in Northern Indiana as they traveled to Plymouth Monday. Led by pitcher Haley Nixon with 8 strikeouts in the first 3 innings, the Raiders jumped to an early lead and never looked back.

On the day, the small victory for Plymouth came in the 4th inning when Katie Berg had a lead off hit and Hayley Brown followed with another single. Zoe Keilman put the bat on the ball and Berg scored as Northridge made a fielder’s choice play.

Plymouth then went back on defense and prevented Northridge from scoring in the 5th. However the game was already decided as Northridge walked away with a 18-1 decision.

Plymouth starts the second round of conference on Wednesday when they travel to Elkhart Memorial.

The softball team will be hosting a Strike Out Cancer Game on May 19th against Northwood. Shirts are for sale to support this cause and can be ordered with Coach Haley Church at Plymouth High School. Call or emailhchurch@plymouth.k12.in.us for any information.
