04/05/14  The LaVille High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble received a Gold Rating last month at the Indiana State School  Association (ISSMA) Vocal Jazz Contest held at LaPorte High School. They received this honor from the three judges who used a set of predetermined standards such as vocal technique, vocal artistry and other factors such as balance and blend, rhythmic accuracy, tone quality, dynamics and tempo.

This group is an audition only ensemble which presents a full Madrigal Dinner in December and then makes a change to jazz music in January. Vocal Jazz, directed by Christine Stout as well as other vocal and instrumental groups will be performing their Spring Concert on Monday, April 14th at 7:00 P.M. in the LaVille High School Gymnasium. The program will consist of a variety of musical genres and time periods. Admission is Free.
