New Carlisle Fire Department Assistant Chief Jamie Middlebrook was killed during a collapse at a large industrial fire at K-Fex Inc, just west of the Saint Joseph-LaPorte County Line.
Friends have established a “Lights On” event to honor his memory and support his family and department.
How can you participate? Many will observe this “Lights On” remembrance by simply illuminating a porch lamp at sundown on Friday. However, your own expression can be as individual and personally meaningful as you wish. Some have set flameless candles in their windows with attached red ribbons. Perhaps you can also gather your family in a prayer circle or moment of silence for Chief Middlebrook and all those brothers and sisters who have preceded him.
