HUNTINGTON – The 7th grade Red Storm boys basketball team traveled to Crestview Middle School on Saturday morning to play in the long awaited conference tournament.  The boys went 3-0 on the day and took home the highly sought after conference trophy.

In the first game, the Red Storm defeated Lakeview by a score of 33-25.  Leading the way for the team were Cam Dennie with 12, Clay Hilliard with 11, and Cole Filson with 10.

In the second and most competitive game of the day the boys defeated an undefeated Crestview team 46-44 on a last second shot by Cole Filson.  Filson lead all scorers with a season high 29 points and Clay Hilliard chipped in 8 points.  Cam Dennie dominated the glass with a team high 13 rebounds.  Larry Dragani led the team defensively and forced Crestview into a turnover that led to the game winning shot.

In the championship game, the boys defeated Wawasee 41-34.  Cole Filson led the way with 19 points and Clay Hilliard chipped in 12.  Cam Dennie and Austin Arriaga once again controlled the glass pulling down 6 rebounds a piece.  Larry Dragani, Evan Zeigler, and Bryce Carmichael were dominate all day defensively and played a major part in the victory as well.

Overall the 7th grade Red Storm finish the season with an impressive 21-1 record and won both the Northwood Shootout and Conference Championship.
